Clients
We require clients to stay a minimum of two weeks on our program,
at which point you can decide whether Meals on Wheels is right for
you. The first two weeks of service are payable in advance according
to number of meals ordered. Advance payment is non-refundable.
We prefer that a cheque is given to the driver on the first day
of delivery. If the client stays on the program past the initial
two-week period, the advance payment will be deducted from the total
amount owing at the end of the month.
Billing
Meals are invoiced every month. The invoice will be sent directly
to the client or as directed by a relative or agency.
Payment may be made by cheque, cash or money order. Please make cheques payable to: Burnaby
Meals on Wheels Society
Late payment charges are applicable to overdue accounts for each
month outstanding.
Delivery
days
Hot meals are available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Frozen meals are also available.
Please note: There are no deliveries on public holidays
Delivery
time
Between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Because of the number of
clients we serve and unpredictable traffic, we cannot be more specific
than that.
Clients must be home to accept delivery or contact the coordinator
to make alternate arrangements for delivery.
We can deliver to a neighbor or freeze the meal at the depot &
deliver it the next delivery day with regular meal delivery.
These arrangements must be made prior to the day's delivery.
The coordinator has no contact with drivers once they leave the
depot to deliver their route
Due to health hazards, drivers cannot leave meal at the door if
no one is home to accept delivery. A meal charge will apply
to all undeliverable meals.
Subsidy
Burnaby Meals on Wheels partially subsidizes the price of meals
for clients who qualify. Clients can apply for the subsidy by submitting
the subsidy form with the required documents.
