Solution:
During the last two years, Burnaby Meals on Wheels Society has been
using a computer program called Meal Bytes. Since it’s installation
in January of 2000, Meal Bytes has streamlined the mundane and time
consuming task of tracking clients and their order information. With
this new solution, Burnaby Meals on Wheels Society now has the ability
to operate in a more effective and efficient manner, providing a service
that benefits our clients.
Design:
Meal Bytes is a windows based computer program that offers a simple
and effective method of tracking your client information. With a
point and click approach, the user is guided with ease throughout
the program, performing many operations with the click of a single
button. Within each form, the user is presented with a number of
options, each automating a task originally performed manually. In
developing this software, our goal was to incorporate the knowledge
and experience of a long standing Meal Service program. The result
has been a valuable tool that saves both time and money.
